Easy care and hardy upright shrub with large leathery leaves. It bears masses of sprays of purple pea flowers in late winter to spring. A great pioneer plant for the new garden. Growing to around one and a half meters high, it is a useful plant to grow on fences and trellis without the need for constant pruning to keep it in bounds. Mass planted, it will create a dense covering, or to create a low hedge. Suitable also as a pot specimen.
