If you’re looking for a plant that is both low maintenance and incredibly versatile, look no further than the Lomandra Tanika. This evergreen shrub has been a favorite among landscape professionals and gardeners in Australia for over a decade, and it’s easy to see why.

The Lomandra Tanika is perfect for any area of your yard – whether you’re looking to add some color and life to a dry, lifeless spot or you need a tough plant that can withstand drought conditions, this plant will not disappoint. Small yellow flowers bloom from April to October, adding a splash of color to any landscape, while the compact, fine-leaf form ensures that this shrub will never take over your yard. And because it’s soft to the touch, even kids can enjoy this plant without worry.

For those concerned about phytophthora in low-lying areas, the Lomandra Tanika is not recommended. However, alternatives such as Shara™ and Evergreen Baby™ Lomandra are phytophthora resistant and make perfect choices for these conditions. No matter what your landscape needs may be, the Lomandra Tanika is sure to be a welcome addition to your yard.

Position: Full sun to moderate shade. Tolerates frost and drought. Suits sandy, sandy loam to clay soils. Avoid wet feet.

Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well-mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). Ensure the crown or base of the plant is not below the soil or mulch level. If required use slow-release fertiliser in spring. Every 3-10 years cut back 15cm above the ground if required (will look better with pruning every 3 years, this depends on your requirements).
