Betula Nigra River Birch is a magnificent tree that is admired for its beautiful bark. The peeling bark is salmon-pink, smooth and shiny then it flakes and curls in cinnamon-brown to blackish sheets. The foliage is glossy and green in a diamond shade with silvery undersides.

The foliage turns yellow in autumn. A beautiful specimen or border tree. Plant in well-drained and work soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water well and keep the soil moist until the tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth.
