Doryanthes Excelsa Gymea Lily is an evergreen shrub or small tree growing to 6–8 m tall. The leaves are strap-like, with a sharp point on the end. The flowers are borne in a nodding inflorescence at the end of the leafy stems. They are tubular and bright red, with six petal-like tepals which open outwards into star shapes. Flowering occurs mainly from September to November in its native range. This spectacular Australian native plant is sure to make a statement in your garden!
