Indoor Pots

The right pot is as important as the right plant when it comes to indoor greenery. Indoor pots need to look good in your home, provide adequate drainage, and suit the size of the plant you’re growing.

We stock a wide range of indoor pots in various sizes, materials, colours, and styles. From minimalist white ceramics to textured handmade pots, we have options that suit every interior.

Choose a pot that’s 2u20135cm larger in diameter than the plant’s current pot. Too large and the excess soil stays wet and can cause root rot. Too small and the plant becomes root-bound quickly.

Drainage is essential for indoor plants. Choose pots with drainage holes and use a saucer underneath, or use a decorative cachepot (outer pot) with a practical inner pot that has drainage.

Material matters too. Terracotta breathes and helps prevent overwatering. Ceramic and glazed pots retain moisture longer, which suits moisture-loving plants. Lightweight resin pots are easy to move.

Indoor Pots

Did You Know?

The right pot makes all the difference for indoor plant health and style. Here are a few things worth knowing:

  • Pots without drainage holes are the top cause of indoor plant death. Excess water sits at the bottom and rots roots. Always use pots with drainage holes, or use a simple nursery pot inside a decorative outer pot so you can tip out excess water.
  • Terracotta pots help prevent overwatering. The porous material wicks moisture away from the soil, which is ideal for plants that prefer to dry out between waterings. Terracotta is particularly good for succulents, cacti, and Mediterranean herbs.
  • Pot colour affects soil temperature. Dark-coloured pots absorb more heat, which can stress roots in direct sunlight near a window. Light-coloured pots reflect heat and keep soil temperatures more stable indoors.
