Description
A large, stately deciduous tree with the classic lobed oak leaf. Deep green foliage in summer turns brown and gold in autumn. The deeply fissured dark grey bark and developing acorns add character. A long-lived tree that develops a broad, spreading canopy over time.
Grows to 20m or more — needs space. Tolerates most soil types and prefers a cooler climate. Plant in full sun. Water well until established and fertilise at planting. A traditional feature tree for large Melbourne gardens and properties.
Botanical name: Quercus robur
