Description
A shade-loving perennial grown for its bold, ornamental foliage. Broad, heart-shaped leaves come in a range of greens, blues, and variegated patterns depending on variety. Elegant flower spikes appear in summer carrying small bell-shaped blooms in white or lavender.
Grows in part shade to full shade with moist, well-drained soil. Dies back in winter and returns each spring. Works well under deciduous trees, in shaded borders, and in containers. Protect from snails and slugs.
