Description
A weeping laceleaf Japanese maple with deeply dissected foliage in deep burgundy to near-black tones — one of the darkest-coloured maples available. The cascading, layered branches create a graceful, mounding form. Foliage turns brilliant crimson in autumn.
Grows to around 2m. Plant in morning sun with afternoon shade and moist, well-drained soil. Protect from hot afternoon sun and strong winds. Works as a specimen tree, in containers, or as a focal point in Melbourne gardens.
