Tiger Grass

Description

A large, clumping ornamental grass with tall, bamboo-like stems and long, lance-shaped leaves. Fast growing — forms dense, upright clumps to around 3m, making it effective as a tropical-style privacy screen or windbreak. Feathery flower plumes appear at the top in summer.

Grows in full sun to part shade with moist, well-drained soil. Handles a range of conditions. Cut back in late winter for fresh growth. Works well in Melbourne gardens for screening and tropical-style plantings.
