Description
An Italian kale variety (cavolo nero) with long, dark green, crinkled leaves and a rich, slightly sweet flavour. Widely used in Italian soups, pasta dishes, and stir-fries. The flavour improves after a frost.
Best planted in autumn for harvest through the cooler months. Grows in full sun to part shade with rich, well-drained soil. Pick outer leaves regularly for a continuous harvest. Watch for slugs and snails. Rich in vitamins and minerals.
