African Milk Tree

Description

A tall, architectural succulent with sturdy upright stems divided into triangular segments — looks a bit like a green candelabra. Stems are often edged in red, adding extra interest. Be mindful of the sharp spines when handling.

Native to West Africa but grows happily in well-draining soil with plenty of sun. Very drought tolerant and low maintenance. Works as a feature plant outdoors in a sheltered spot, or grows well indoors in bright light. Protect from frost.
