Description
A compact finger lime (also called caviar lime) suited to smaller gardens and large pots. Produces small, elongated fruit filled with tiny juice vesicles that burst with a sharp citrus flavour — popular in cooking and drinks. The vesicles come in shades of green, pink, and red depending on the variety.
Needs full sun, well-drained soil, and regular feeding with citrus fertiliser. Protect from heavy frost — in colder Melbourne pockets, grow in a pot you can move to a sheltered spot over winter. Water regularly but don’t let it sit wet.
Botanical name: Citrus australasica (dwarf)
