Daphne odora Alba

Description

An evergreen shrub with intensely fragrant white starry flowers from mid-winter to spring. The scent is strong and carries well — one of the most fragrant plants you can grow in a Melbourne garden. Glossy dark green foliage provides a clean backdrop to the blooms.

Needs excellent drainage — daphnes do not tolerate wet feet. Plant in part shade with well-drained soil and avoid disturbing the roots once established. Mulch around the base to keep roots cool.
