Description
A native Australian finger lime (also called caviar lime) producing small, elongated fruit filled with pink citrus pearls. The tiny juice vesicles burst with a sharp, tangy citrus flavour — popular in cooking, drinks, and as a garnish.
Slow growing and thorny. Grows in full sun to part shade with well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Protect from heavy frost — in colder Melbourne pockets, grow in a pot you can move to shelter over winter. Feed with citrus fertiliser through the growing season.
Botanical name: Microcitrus australasica
