Grass Tree

Description

An iconic Australian native with a dark, resinous trunk topped by a dense spray of fine, grass-like leaves. Tiny white to cream flowers cluster on tall spears, usually appearing in spring. Extremely slow growing and very long-lived — some specimens are hundreds of years old.

Drought tolerant and low maintenance. Grows in full sun with well-drained soil. A distinctive native feature plant for Melbourne gardens.
