Description
A compact perennial herb with small, aromatic, grey-green leaves and tiny pink to lilac flowers in spring and summer. One of the essential kitchen herbs — used in roasts, stews, soups, marinades, and Mediterranean dishes. The flowers attract bees.
Grows to around 20cm. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Works in herb gardens, rockeries, between pavers, and in pots near the kitchen. Harvest sprigs as needed year-round.
Botanical name: Thymus vulgaris
