Description
One of the most popular ornamental trees for Melbourne gardens. Delicate, deeply lobed foliage emerges in spring and provides colour and texture through summer before turning spectacular shades of scarlet, orange, and gold in autumn. Deciduous — the bare winter framework has its own appeal.
Grows to around 5m depending on variety. Best in morning sun with afternoon shade to protect the fine leaves from scorching. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Suits garden beds, courtyards, and large containers.
