Description
An evergreen shrub producing sweet, aromatic fruit with a unique strawberry-pineapple hybrid flavour. The striking red and white flowers in spring are edible too — the fleshy petals have a sweet, tropical taste. Grey-green foliage with silvery undersides adds ornamental appeal.
Grows to around 3m. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Self-fertile and productive. Suits Melbourne’s climate well. Works as a fruiting hedge, screen, or specimen planting.
