Description
A perennial shrub with grey-green, aromatic foliage and tall spikes of lavender-blue flowers in late summer and autumn. The silvery foliage and airy flower sprays create a hazy, blue-purple effect in the garden. Deciduous — may die back in frost but reshoots from the base in spring.
Grows to around 1.2m. Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Drought tolerant and low maintenance. Works in perennial borders, dry gardens, and mixed plantings.
Botanical name: Perovskia atriplicifolia
