Description

One of Melbourne’s most popular garden trees. A compact, evergreen magnolia with glossy, dark green leaves that have a rusty-brown, velvety underside. Large, fragrant white flowers appear from spring through summer. Smaller and more manageable than a full-sized Magnolia grandiflora.

Grows to around 5m. Plant in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Frost tolerant. Works as a feature tree, screen, or in large containers. Low maintenance and reliable.
